Frame Update 7/29/2013

At last......

The Frame has been coated, and the front end and rear end are now in the frame. Dad did a hell of a job getting this thing so straight that the wheel base is DEAD on. And I mean DEAD on!

We still need to get the front end buttoned up, and the spring in the rear put in, because it has no weight yet, it is almost impossible to get it in there.
Checked the rear end and the body will fit perfectly on the frame as is! Dad is very happy about this as well! Now, next, back to the body work and getting the tub job done on her, and getting the floor squared up and totally welded in place.
Hopefully, will be adding more to this, as we kick ass this fall on the car, since summer is just too damn hot to be in the shop!
Peace out until next time!

Floor Pan has been delivered!

Ok, so I purchased the 1984 Camaro project car from my dad, so in exchange for
the cash, I purchased the new floor pan for the 57 Chevy! Whooo hooo! It arrived from
Tamraz ( I recommend them! ) and now we can finish up the frame work this weekend
and then maybe start prepping the frame for paint.

Chop Chop!

Getting ready to get chopped up. This is the Original 1957 210 Post Frame from the car. The front clip will be snipped and the 1985 Corvette front end will be added to her, along with the rear end of the Corvette.

FINALLY!

Ok, Dad found a 85 Corvette just what we were looking for to get the rear end and the front clip put into the original 57 Chevy's frame. We have it now setup on a jig to get the front and rear ends put together onto the original frame for the project.

This is the rear end out of a 1985 C4 Corvette that my dad purchased from a guy in Iowa.

It sits on a Jig that my dad has made many race cars on and we checked it all out, she's all level and ready for the frame to be mated.

Body Off

Dad built a rotisserie for the car and let me tell you what, who ever invented this thing should be given the Nobel Peace Price. This car now rotates 360 by pushing it with one finger.

We had to raise it up 6 inches, because the plans we had was just a tad too short for the car, but hey, it works great now!

50 Plus years of dirt and oil was on the bottom of the car, and to save time and money, I hand scrapped it all off of it. Now, the next step is to get the body blasted and primed and start sheet metal work.
